Our Mission

The National Association of Broadcasters' Political Action Committee (NABPAC) is the federal political action committee of NAB. It supports the election of candidates to the U.S. Congress. NABPAC promotes good citizenship and encourages voluntary contributions and participation in the political process by educating and mobilizing NABPAC-eligible individuals to support candidates for political office who champion broadcast issues.

President and CEO
National Association of Broadcasters

In 2022, our NABPAC community worked in unison to ensure broadcasters’ voices are heard on Capitol Hill. Your participation made a difference – of the 291 candidates NABPAC supported during the mid-term elections, 95% won their seats. Our industry is better served when elected officials fully understand our issues.

While we face numerous legislative challenges in the year ahead, there is strength in numbers. We invite you to take a look back NABPAC’s successful efforts to bring together our community to increase participation in our advocacy, as well as the many ways local stations have benefitted from our donors’ engagement.

As we welcome the new year, we thank you for continuing your journey with us as we work to build a brighter future for broadcasting.

NABPAC is a community of leaders who are actively engaged in the political process, working toward positive changes for the broadcast industry.

In 2022, NABPAC was able to exceed $1 million in fundraising for the tenth year in a row.

No longer the new kid on the block, Michael Spiesman has truly embodied the role of NABPAC trustee. Read on to learn more about his passion for the industry and why he steps up for NABPAC:

  • I am a trustee of NABPAC. This industry has provided me with the best jobs in the world. How could I not support its future? I should and I did!

Well, that was some years ago and that history evolved to me becoming a trustee of the PAC, encouraging others to participate as well. If you have not yet become a supporter of the PAC, I ask you to do so. If you are a supporter, I thank you and ask that you continue to do so through the end of the year with general donations or donations earmarked for specific recipients, perhaps those representing your state or those in key positions on committees critical to local broadcasting.

We have more competitors now than ever before. They are well funded, and if we want a seat at the table, NABPAC is our ticket to maintaining and building relationships with members of Congress.

Our issues are non-partisan and go towards members who support broadcasting and those whose support we need.

Thank you for your time, consideration and support of our great industry.

State Associations

State Associations play a major role in our grassroots efforts. In addition to helping NABPAC offset operating costs through the underwriting program, state association board members make up a large percentage of NABPAC supporters.

2022 State Association

NABPAC is a bipartisan advocacy tool for all broadcasters.

By aggregating personal donations from NAB members, NABPAC continues to support pro-broadcast candidates and legislators throughout the year. Personal donations and participation strengthen our position by allowing NAB’s Government Relations team to form relationships with new and current members of Congress and ensure they are better educated on our issues.
